On 15 May 2026, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant compared India's unemployed youth to "cockroaches" in open court — calling them parasites who attack the system that feeds them.
Within 24 hours, Abhijeet Dipke, a 30-year-old PR graduate from Boston University, announced a "platform for all the cockroaches out there." What started as a single tweet on X became a movement that would register 2 lakh members in just 6 days.
The name was a weapon of irony. If the highest court in the land calls its citizens cockroaches — then cockroaches they would proudly become. Resilient. Unkillable. Everywhere.

Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), also commonly known as Cockroach Janta Party (कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी), is India's largest satirical online political movement. Founded on 16 May 2026 by Abhijeet Dipke, a 30-year-old PR graduate from Boston University, CJP was born just one day after Chief Justice of India Surya Kant compared India's unemployed youth to "cockroaches" in open court.
The party's slogan — "Main Bhi Cockroach" (मैं भी कॉकरोच), meaning "I am also a cockroach" — reclaims the word used to demean millions of struggling citizens and transforms it into a badge of resilience, solidarity, and democratic defiance. Within just 7 days of its founding, CJP crossed 2 lakh (200,000) registered members, making it one of the fastest-growing political movements in Indian history.
CJP describes itself as Secular, Socialist, Democratic, and Lazy. It operates with zero corporate funding, zero paid positions, and complete transparency. The movement is built entirely on volunteer effort, internet culture, memes, satire, and the collective outrage of a generation that was called parasites by the very institution sworn to protect their rights.
